Withdrawing from the Study
Your participation is voluntary. It is completely up to you whether or not you participate. If you decide to withdraw, it will not affect the clinical care you receive in any way.
How to Withdraw
If you wish to withdraw from the MoTHer study, follow these steps:
- Notify the project team — contact us by email at motherapp@csiro.au and let us know you wish to withdraw.
- Inform your diabetes educator — let your care team know so they can provide you with a paper-based diary for recording your blood glucose levels.
- Delete the app — remove the MoTHer app from your device(s).
You do not need to give a reason for withdrawing.
What Happens After You Withdraw
- Your clinical care will continue as normal. You will be provided with a paper-based diary and standard diabetes care resources.
- Your care will no longer be monitored via the MoTHer clinical portal.
- You may continue to access the diabetes education resources in the app if you wish.
- You can still provide feedback via survey or focus group, or choose not to be contacted.
Your Data After Withdrawal
If you withdraw, CSIRO may still use de-identified data that you submitted to the app up until the point of withdrawal, as described in the Terms & Conditions. No new data will be collected after you withdraw.
Your personal information will continue to be protected under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and CSIRO's privacy obligations.
